A 'Leader Hose' is a length of flexible hose which should be fitted between an air tool and the connecting coupling. By absorbing the impact of a pneumatic impact tool, a leader hose will significantly increase the life expectancy of the coupling. WARNING - Leader Hoses. The Health and Safety Executive guides states - "the plug should not be screwed directly into the inlet port, but should be fitted onto a short isolation hose, thus isolating the plug and coupling from the tool vibration".
