Driving a Sustainable Future

At Flowtech, sustainability is not a side project - it is central to how we create value for our customers, colleagues, and the communities we serve. Guided by 6 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we are building a responsible business that balances performance with positive impact.

Read more about the UN Sustainable Development Goals

Our approach focuses on three pillars: Environment (Planet), Social (People), and Governance (Profit). Together, these drive our commitment to long-term growth, resilience, and trust.

By focusing on these goals, we can enhance our strategy, contribute to global sustainability efforts, and build a resilient, responsible, and forward-thinking business.

Our ESG Approach

We believe that doing business responsibly creates a stronger Flowtech and a stronger future for our stakeholders

  • Transparent Reporting - We disclose against SECR, ESOS and TCFD frameworks in the Flowtech Annual Report 2024
  • Independent Partnerships - We work with Carbon Responsible (emissions reporting), Bladen Consulting (energy audits), and other expert partners
  • External Ratings - Flowtech has been rated 25/100 by LSEG ESG (1st quartile) in our sector (Machinery & Tools)

Our 2030 Targets

Environment (Planet)

We are committed to playing our part in tackling climate change and minimising environmental impact.

  1. Net Zero Roadmap - cutting Scope 1 & 2 emissions (fleet, buildings, supply chain), introducing a carbon intensity KPI (tCO₂e/£ revenue), and increasing renewable electricity
  2. Smart Waste Plan - reducing landfill, increasing recycling, and setting packaging reduction targets
  3. Eco-Smart Sourcing - engaging our top 10 suppliers in ESG commitments, piloting an Eco-Label, and promoting sustainable materials
  4. ESG Excellence - measuring our actions against expected standards including CSR Accreditation and Energy policy focused on ISO 50001

Social (People)

Our people and communities are at the heart of Flowtech.

  1. Winning Team - we are building diverse and inclusive teams, addressing gender pay balance, and strengthening engagement through recognition, reward, and employee forums
  2. Future Ready Education - through our Flow ed framework we are aligning apprenticeships to growth strategies, increasing technical training, expanding leadership programmes, and maintaining 5% Club membership
  3. Community Commitment - we are deepening our partnership with CALM, increasing participation in charitable events, strengthening ties with schools, and creating new volunteering opportunities
  4. Safety & Wellbeing (FLOW) - we are embedding MHFA support and healthcare for all, achieving zero RIDDORs with AFR & LTI measures, mandating job-specific safety training, and promoting a culture of care across Flowtech

Governance (Profit)

We are committed to accountability, ethical leadership, and integrity in everything we do.

  1. Board Oversight - embedding ESG accountability and transparency at board level, improving representation, establishing an ESG Committee, and benchmarking performance through assurance
  2. Ethical Leadership - rolling out a group-wide Code of Conduct, delivering D&I education and training, and embedding standards on ethics, anti-bribery, modern slavery, and money laundering
  3. Operational Integrity - maintaining our whistleblowing line (“Speak Up”), strengthening governance and risk reporting, and ensuring ethical standards are applied across colleagues, suppliers, customers, and stakeholders
