Flowtech announces new charity partnership with CALM
At the latest Flowtech summer extravaganza, an announcement was made that the business will be committing to a national charity partnership with CALM, with the aim of raising £100,000 by the end of 2025.
The latest Flowtech summer extravaganza took place recently at Celtic Manor resort in Newport, South Wales, bringing together customers, suppliers and partners from across the Fluid Power and Motion Control industry to celebrate the progress made together in supporting a diverse range of vertical industry sectors to operate more efficiently and sustainably.
It was an opportunity for over 200 delegates to network, discuss and learn about key themes across industry, the latest product innovations and for Mike England, CEO of Flowtech to set out the new direction and future ambitions for Flowtech.
One significant announcement at the event, was a new commitment to a national charity partnership with CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), who are a suicide prevention charity offering anonymous support for those who need it.
Flowtech have made a commitment to raise £100,000 by the end of 2025, and hope to launch a new Charity Champion group that will help kick off many fundraising campaigns across the business and the wider industry.
During the Gala Dinner, which occurred on the evening of the first day, over £20,000 was raised by attendees alone, who generously donated to give the fundraising campaign the best start possible.
Mike elaborated on the success of the event, as well as the charity partnership announcement during day one:
“It was a great pleasure to be able to see valued customers and suppliers at Celtic Manor, and celebrate the progress made by them in partnership with Flowtech as a group. I hope we can keep moving forward and take on many more challenges together.
“Our new partnership with CALM signifies our commitment to supporting positive mental health and suicide prevention, for the good of everyone in the Fluid Power community and beyond, but I’m exceptionally proud that Flowtech is able to support such a worthwhile and vital charity at the same time.”
Showcasing the future of Flowtech
The event took place across two days, and kicked off with a plenary session which included the official launch of Flowtech’s new own-brand range: FT Pro.
Speakers at the session included Suzanne Emberton (Customer Services Director), Chris Park (Group Marketing, Digital and Insight Director), Trasie Marsh (Group Human Resource and ESG Director), Francisco Terol (Benelux Managing Director) and Brynn Woods (Operations, Procurement and Supply Chain Director).
Topics ranged from the current state of play in the industry to outlining Flowtech’s broad range of products and engineering capabilities, as well as an overview of a recent major project that saw Flowtech involved in making necessary improvements to London’s Tower Bridge.
This was followed by a supplier showcase that featured over 25 exhibitors displaying their products and services to delegates, as well as a competition to find the most popular stand, won by Kempson Controls on the day, who garnered the most signatures from attendees.
Day one culminated in a black-tie Gala Dinner that had a ‘Roaring 20’s’ theme, a glamourous evening of celebration, accompanied by a fantastic set from comedian Russell Kane.
This feast of entertainment continued into day two, where attendees participated in some fun teambuilding activities including Top Tracer Golf, Axe Throwing and Archery, followed by a BBQ lunch to wrap up proceedings.
